#5: Larry Ellison’s California Estate

via WSJ
Larry Ellison, the founder of software giant Oracle, is a man whose net worth is in the $50 billion range. And what Mr. Ellison likes to do more than anything will all that money is to buy decadent properties all over the world.
However, of all Larry Ellison’s myriad properties, this sprawling estate in Woodside, California is arguably the most impressive. This 23-acre Japanese-style estate was constructed in 2004. Ellison’s home features 10 buildings, a man made lake, a tea house, a bath house, a koi pond, and immaculately kept gardens and grounds.
It is estimated that the property cost $200 million for Mr. Ellison to construct, which may be pocket change to this billionaire, but that’s not the point. This mansion is nothing short of absolutely magnificent.
