The 10 Most Expensive Travel Destinations

#7: London, England

No surprise here – London has a longstanding reputation for being one of the world’s most-expensive cities, both for residents and for travelers. The city features several of the most expensive apartments in the world, and you’ll definitely find a good deal of London hotels on pretty much every shortlist of the world’s most expensive hotel rooms as well.

London is known for much more than expensive places to sleep, though. The city obviously has a great deal of historic intrigue, a booming art and entertainment scene, a plethora of world-class restaurants and nightclubs, and much more.

London has been one of the world’s most popular high-class travel destinations for a very long time, and that seems unlikely to change any time in the near future. However, the steep price of an extended stay in London deters many would-be tourists from visiting the famous city.

#6: Sydney, Australia

If you plan on traveling to the land Down Under, you’d better be ready from prices that go over the top. Sydney, Australia is an incredible place to visit, but staying in Australia’s most famous city does not come cheap.

Australia is one of the most expensive countries in the world right now, as the value of the Australian Dollar has been consistently in the rise in the last decade, making the exchange rate pretty ugly for the majority or tourists. A pricey exchange rate doesn’t help matters in Sydney, where tourism is abundant, inflating the prices of hotels and restaurants even further.

Sydney is an incredible city that is definitely worth visiting, but you should make sure your cash flow is looking good before booking a trip to the Harbour City.
