#2: Sybarite Modular Treehouse – $2 million

We jump from less than $500,000 to $2 million with the Sybarite Modular Treehouse, which isn’t so much a novelty treehouse as a bona fide residence, given its size, scope, and of course, price tag.

The Sybarite Modular Treehouse looks more like a futuristic space station than the type of treehouse you’re accustomed to seeing, as it reaches above the surrounding trees like a UFO coming in for a terrestrial landing.

There’s more to like about these treehouses than just the futuristic design and large interior area, though.Sybarite Modular Treehouses are made of 70% recycled materials, making them as environmentally friendly as they are awesome.

The dream that Sybarite has for the future is that there could be entire communities of these modular treehouses, creating an energy-efficient, environmentally-friendly community.

However, we still have a long way to go before that is a reality, as the first of the Modular Treehouses is still undergoing final conceptualization before construction. I, for one, am eagerly awaiting the creation of this treehouse of the future.

#1: Alnwick Garden Treehouse – $6 million

This treehouse, belonging to the Duke and Duchess of Scotland, is the most expensive treehouse in the world by a substantial margin.

That’s probably because the “treehouse” is bigger than most people’s primary homes.

The Alnwick Garden Treehouse extends over 6,000 square feet, and features all sorts of insane luxuries and amenities, that are not commonly associated with treehouses, like a restaurant with a 120-person capacity, a retail store, 2 personal dining rooms, and an area for weddings, which many couples use every year.

The Alnwick Garden Treehouse isn’t supposed to be a private building, as the Duke and Duchess built it with the hopes that it would become a tourist attraction, which it certainly has.

For $6 million, the Scottish royals have created the most expensive, and most incredible, treehouse in the world.
