If you want to give your sweetheart a memorable dinner this Valentine’s Day, that dinner must include a fancy dessert.

And as far as desserts go, you just can’t get much fancier than the Golden Opulence Sundae that is served at New York’s Serendipity 3 Restaurant.

Serendipity 3 is one of New York City’s most famous eateries, and has been a hotspot for celebrities for years. The restaurant’s menu isn’t cheap in general, but this ice cream sundae is the most expensive food item you can buy.

For $1,000,  you can treat your date to the Golden Opulence Sundae – provided you give the restaurant the mandatory 48-hour heads-up on your order.

This is necessary because the dessert requires ingredients to be flown in from far and wide. The sundae, which is made of Tahitian vanilla ice cream, Madagascar vanilla beans, and rare Chuao chocolate from Venezuela, is also coated in 23-karat edible gold.

Because nothing shows your lover your appreciation more than spending $1,000 for them to eat precious metals.
