The 5 Most Expensive Artists/Bands to Book

By on February 18, 2015

There are few things that are more special and memorable than seeing your favorite musical artists play live, especially if the performance is at a private, small event.

Most of us will never have the pleasure of watching our favorite musicians play in such an intimate setting, but that doesn’t mean that the option to book some of the world’s biggest and smallest names alike doesn’t exist.

And while you might be able to get your favorite indie band of 2014 to play a private concert for just a few thousand bucks, if you want to get some of music’s biggest names to perform for you, you have to throw down figures in the millions of dollars.

Here are the five most expensive artists and bands that you can book today.

#5: James Taylor ($1 million+)

For a cool one million dollars, you might have the privilege of letting five-time Grammy Award winner James Taylor serenade you at your next major event.

Taylor, who was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2000, has been at it since 1966, churning out some of the most iconic American songs around in “Carolina in My Mind,” “Fire and Rain,” and “Sweet Baby James,” amongst others.

To get this living legend to perform for you, estimates place the price tag at a minimum of $1 million, and it could certainly be more. If you’re looking for a sweet singer-songwriter on the cheap, you could always get a hold of Vanilla Ice for a mere $25,000 instead.

Hey, you get what you pay for.
